G1 is a professional dance company based out of los angeles, ca that seeks to create conversation in and around the convergence of concert and commercial contemporary dance styles honored through the medium of women’s bodies and viewed through the lens of broadening intersectional feminism. this is accomplished by blending the artistic directors tools and knowledge of both industries through the application of dance on film, projects the company prioritizes, and the directors personal dedication to advancement of all women’s voices and LGBTQIA+ spaces.

GEOMETRY is fundamentally a technique based company.

a technique by definition is “a way of carrying out a particular task, especially the execution or performance of an artistic work or a scientific procedure.”

GEOMETRY celebrates the body’s strength, agility, form, proprioception, and the cultivation and prioritization of individual movement research and grounded body awareness as the technique to “carry out the particular task” that makes up the choreography reflected inside the company’s repertoire.

there is a deeply rooted white, patriarchal, and misogynistic idealism that parades itself under the lens of what “contemporary technique” is defined within. GEOMETRY and the artistic directors mission seeks to disrupt that.

G1 is a paid company. dancers are paid monthly rehearsal rates and are paid per project or performance.

our season’s run on a 12 month contract.

G2 is a training program that parallels the work of GEOMETRY (G1) for dancers in los angeles, which prepares a dancer for the trajectory of company work. This program assists dancers who are interested in joining GEOMETRY by offering them a track with less commitments and more flexibility. The entrance program also works as a relationship builder with the company director and existing members of the company. The benefits of this training program is that it is flexible with dancers schedules and has bi-annual rolling acceptance each season.
